About Our Winery
Our winery is located on the North Shore of Lake Erie, in Southwestern Ontario. Family owned and operated, we use only grapes grown in our own vineyard and region to create wines which are truly unique in character and craftsmanship.
We have award winning white, red and fruit wines available. We welcome you to come and visit our tasting room at the vineyard and experience what we have to offer. Who knows, you just might discover your new favourite wine.

MISSION & OBJECTIVES
At AEW our mission is to represent the Quality Local Wine Culture of the Lake Erie North Shore.
Quality: AEW wines have won many awards both at the provincial and national level. Our approach is to go above and beyond, not only in the practice of our wine making but also in the services we provide to you, our customers.
Local: We believe in the sustainability of our region and the ability to produce and use what we can grow. All of our grapes come from Essex or Kent County. No juices from other grape growing regions are added. Even our fruit wines are 100% local fruit. We also believe that by producing a local product we are providing a snapshot of our region, it’s unique flavours and the people who live and work in the area.
Wine: We are proud to represent one of the world’s best wine producing regions and we try to create the best wine possible by respecting the characteristics of each grape.
Culture: What is wine culture? It’s the spirit of wine combined with food, family, friends, music...it’s the experience. Slowing down the pace of life and taking moments to appreciate this experience is what we are hoping you find while enjoying our wines. A simplified lifestyle to be shared and savoured.
Family
For the Bemben family, Aleksander Estate Winery is the connection that brings family, friends, spirit, food and drink together. Being in the wine industry for over 30 years, Alex, wife Genny, daughter Izabela and son Lukasz create an environment where team work is fundamental.
Just like the sun, rain and soil are to the vine, each member is to the winery. Respect and appreciation for the vine and its wine is the driving force for quality wines, the pleasure and joy it brings naturally follow. We invite you to visit.

Aleksander (Alex) Bemben
It is a wonderful life when you can do what you love and share it with the world.
Our ‘Father Bear’ at the winery, Alex is the winemaker and founder of Aleksander Estate Winery as well as the man behind the name. Born in Poland, Alex began working in the European wine industry prior to settling in the Lake Erie North Shore region where he has been involved in the wine industry for over 25 years.
A creative and talented woodworker and metal fabricator to boot, Alex has produced many of the tanks and equipment used at Aleksander Estate Winery. From vine to wine, and everything in between, Alex ensures the wines are a true reflection and flavour of the Lake Erie North Shore region.
Genowefa (Genny) Bemben
The woman behind the man, Genny is actively involved in the day to day operations of Aleksander Estate Winery managing the books among all other things that need done.
Mother of Lukasz and Izabela, Genny believes the wine culture and the resulting wine that exists at Aleksander Estate Winery is shaped and strengthened by its family dynamic.
Lukasz Bemben
A machinist by trade, Lukasz grew up in the vineyard and working with wine in the Lake Erie North Shore wine region. Today Lukasz is part of the Aleksander team and is involved with all aspects of the winery.
